TRUE STORY OF AMERICAN FAMILY OF 1912- THE AMERICAN SONS WERE PAINTING THEIR OWN FURNITURE, WHICH, FOR THE ECONOMY REASONS WAS SOLD UNPAINTED IN HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. THE USA  IN 1912.

HERE IS THE REAL STORY:

AS A MATTER OF ECONOMY, we furnished the twelve year old boy's room with unpainted furniture. He was delighted, and for the first time takes really keen interest in his room.In about six months when the pieces begin to look soiled, he is to paint them any color he wishes, and already he calling at hardware stores for cards. He sent for some samples enamel, and begged to paint the knobs the drawers a shade which he originated by mixing, and which he calls "rosy orange". We consented, on the condition, that the work be done perfectly, and he will be happily occupied for some to come. Probably those knobs will undergo as many changes as a chameleon.
