Keep a small box of toothpicks near the stove, and when testing, the cake, let it stay in the oven, and stick a tooth pick into the cake. If there is no batter on the toothpick, it is done. If the cake is taken out of the oven, put on a table to test it, if it is not done it is liable to fall.- TA
